Abstract

Learning media has a big impact on the success of the teaching and learning process in the classroom. Interactive multimedia-based guided inquiry is a learning media that can be used in the chemistry learning of inorganic nonmetals. This study aimed to improve students' generic science skills and to determine their responses on the use of interactive multimedia-based guided inquiry in carbon and silicon learning material. The research design used in this study was pre-experimental by using one-shot case study design with 23 students as the study participants. This study used test instruments and non-tests in the form of a questionnaire to see student responses. Data analysis used n-gain analysis to see Generic Science Skills student. The results of this study indicated that there was an improvement of the students' generic science skills through the implementation of interactive multimedia-based guided inquiry. It is confirmed by the result of n-gain score of 0.7 which is considered high, and the students' positive responses toward the use of this learning media. © 2023 American Institute of Physics Inc..
