HOTS is a high order thinking skill that requires critical, creative, analytical thinking on information and data in solving problems. Low-level higher thinking skills are experienced not only in school-level students, but also in college. This study includes development studies for creating online learning, media integration between Articulate Story Line and Adobe Flash (online-based) media, and tools for measuring student' ability to have HOTS in general chemistry research. ADDIE is used as the development model. In this study, results indicate that the e-learning prototype has been validated as valid and effective when integrated with Adobe Flash and Articulate Story Line (online) and HOTS tools. Validation is qualitatively assured by validators in order to achieve effectiveness, learners are integrated into a multimedia network that students may access HOTS tools online and demonstrate the ability to complete HOTS tools with learning outcomes using t-tests. A p-value of 0.000 is found for the experimental analysis. Therefore, e-learning integrated with Adobe Flash (online) media and HOTS tool in Articulate Story Line can be considered a valid and effective method to enhance students' HOTS. This study's limitation is that the media integrated online learning developed can only be accessed or used on computers so that further development is needed to be accessed and used on smartphones. © 2023 Author(s).
