Abstract

Glass with composition (69-x)P2O5-20Li2O-10AlF3-xNaF-xKF-1Er2O3 (% mol) with (x = 0;10) was tested using melt-quenching technique. Some of the characterization carried out are identify physical properties, optical properties, luminescence, and radiation properties. Characterization using UV–vis–NIR to obtain absorption spectra in the region 380 –1700 nm. NIR luminescence spectroscopy is used to produce a near infrared spectrum in the NIR region 1400 nm – 1700 nm. Based on the results of their radiation properties, the three glasses in this study have the potential as optical amplifier. © 2023 Institute of Physics Publishing. All rights reserved.
