Motivation is the drive within every bureaucracy to carry out its duties and responsibilities diligently and well. To achieve its goals, the bureaucracy must always be motivated in its work. The higher the bureaucracy’s motivation, the faster its goals will be achieved, and vice versa. In general, Motivation theories can be divided into two categories: process theories, which focus on how conduct is supported, directed, strengthened, or stopped, and content theories, which focus on the person who does so. According to their development, there are several motivation theories, from classical theories to modern theories, including Abraham Maslow’s, Herzberg’s Two-Factor, Alderfer’s ERG, McClelland’s Achievement Motivation, Expectancy, Behavior formation, and the theory of equity. In practice, these various theories can be used individually or in conjunction. Copyright © 2026 by Nova Science Publishers, Inc.
