Abstract

Hearing impairment in deaf children affects communication with the surrounding environment. Sign language is one of the alternative languages used by people with disabilities, especially the deaf, to communicate with others, whether they are fellow disabled or not. To understand sign language itself, a technique is needed to learn the language, either by memorizing it or practicing it to remember and get used to it. Often people still feel confused about sign language because it is ambiguous. Therefore, in this study, a tool was created in the form of a smart glove that can translate sign language into standard Indonesian, both in visual and audio form, the reference of which is based on the alphabet movement in SIBI (Indonesian Sign Language System) and the output is displayed on an LED screen that is integrated into the glove. So, the prototype developed functions for people with disabilities, especially the deaf, blind, and mute. The prototype developed is named Artificial Intelligence, which is based on Artificial Intelligence and is used as a foreign language learning tool for people with disabilities. User requirements and information flow are visualized using wireframes to help design the application interface. A high-quality prototype is then developed from metal wire. In this study, performance measurement techniques are used to generate quantitative data on effectiveness, efficiency, and user satisfaction. Power measurement technology begins with a trial to obtain an appropriate test method. In addition, expert examinations are conducted to obtain heuristic usability values. The results of the usability score and user review can be further improved to increase the application's usability value. © (2025), (UIKTEN - Association for Information Communication Technology Education and Science).
